Kapa Haka

Te Roopu Ataawhai were formed in 2000 with a Kapa Haka platform to entice membership, after all, we know that only through a solid and committed membership are we able to access government funding.



Referral Services
At times the General Public and Corporate Sector contact this Roopu for Groups or Individuals that can Kapa Haka, act as Ambassador's, Artists etc.
For administration and coordination services with effect from 1 November 2005, referrals will be charged at 15% of the entire fee.

Youth Development
Youth are our future and it is our job to nurture them. Within Te Roopu Ataawhai, we are encouraging youth participation and mentoring their development in the following areas:
  • videography
  • photography
  • graphic design
  • performing arts
  • law
  • administration
  • policy & planning
Elders Council
Our Elders are precious to us so Te Roopu Ataawhai in partnership with the Elders Council, have formed a liaison where each Elder will be able to share their knowledge, their expertise and their stories with the community through workshop and waananga.
